JOB DESCRIPTION

 

 

Job Title: Summer Enrichment Teacher for the Metro Regional Program

                  (MRP)

Number of Days Worked: Part-time (casual labor) __varies based on length of activity

 

Department: Student Services

 

FLSA Status: At-Will

 

Immediate Supervisor: MRP Activities Coordinator and ESU #3, Director of Student Services

Staff Supervised: None

 

Essential Requirements:

• Valid Nebraska Teaching certificate: an endorsement in deaf education or speech-language pathology preferred
• Experience teaching students who are deaf or hard of hearing
• Must pass a criminal background check
• No history of child abuse or negligence

 

Essential Responsibilities: (Job Tasks)

 

1. Understand and comply with the ESU #3 Board of Education Personnel Policies and Employee Handbook.
2. Regularly access the e-mail system for review of materials distributed from ESU #3.
3. Attends required ESU 3 Student Services meetings such as Time Clock training, Annual Orientation, etc.
4. Maintains confidentiality of student(s) information and situations that are learned during an activity.
5. Respects all forms of communication.
6. Abides by Nebraska Regional Programs’ policy for use of technology and social media.
7. Collaborates with other Regional Program activity staff regarding the child’s needs during the activity.
8. Displays appropriate interpersonal skills to effectively work with students, parents, administrators, teachers, co-workers, and community members.
9. Provides own transportation to fulfill responsibilities of position.
10. Assists with supervision of students during activities when not fulfilling assigned duty.
11. Fulfills roles and/or responsibilities of a classroom teacher such as developing a schedule, creating and implementing lessons appropriate for the students’ levels and needs, and supporting the educational focus of the enrichment session.
