Immediate Supervisor: Conference Center Coordinator
$17-$18/hour, depending on experience
Essential Requirements:
- Knowledgeable about food service procedures and processes
- Ability to meet expectations for friendly hospitality and customer service
- Responsible for ensuring the secure access and closure of facilities including proper management of entry and exit procedures
- Understand and abide by ESU #3 Safety Procedures
- Operations of basic kitchen and catering equipment
- Maintain clean and organized food preparation and service areas
- Greet visitors and direct them to appropriate department or individual
- No history of child abuse or negligence
- Regular and dependable in-person attendance is required and is considered a condition of employment.
- The assigned duties of this position are not eligible for remote work consideration.
Essential Responsibilities and Job Tasks:
Host/Hostess Duties for the Conference Center
- Understand and comply with the ESU #3 Board Personnel Policies and Employee Handbook.
- Host/Hostess will arrive on time for a scheduled shift for instruction and preparation of daily hospitality needs according to the hostess worksheet.
- Coordinate with the Conference Center Coordinator to determine the hospitality needs and timing of the group(s) or event(s) using the facility.
- Complete the preparation and presentation of any food/beverage item as identified.
- Monitor and refresh beverages for all group(s) and event(s) currently having active meetings.
- Monitor the needs/requests of the group(s) or event(s) throughout the duration of the conference/workshop.
- Refresh meeting rooms while the group(s) is away for lunch.
- Refresh room after the earlier group(s) departs and before the next group(s) arrival.
- Prepare hospitality needs for afternoon and evening group(s) event(s).
- Assist Conference Center Event Coordinator in COOP and product orders for the Conference Center.
- Keep all Conference Center supply boxes stocked with necessary items.
- Host/Hostess will be proactive in developing new ideas that will increase the efficiency of the Conference Center and Kitchen area.
Host/Hostess Duties for Kitchen Area
- Complete the preparation and presentation of any food/beverage item as identified.
- Wash and put away catering items, clean up the counter, load and start the dishwasher, and sanitize all sinks and counters.
- Stock and maintain the refrigerator with pop, bottled water and juices as needed. (stocking may require lifting up to 25 lbs).
- Keep the refrigerator clean and discard any old food items.
- Maintain inventory and inform the Conference Center Coordinator of product needs.
- Maintain a high level of sanitation in food preparation/distribution.
- Inspect kitchen equipment and report all possible problems.
- Recommend ideas that will increase efficiency and productivity.
- Other duties as assigned.

Employment with ESU #3 is not for any period of time, and employment may be terminated at any time at the convenience of the terminating party, with or without cause, and with or without notice.
