JOB DESCRIPTION

 

Job Title:  Sign Language Instructor for the Metro Regional Program (MRP)

 

Job Title Code:  7125

Number of Days Worked:  Part time (casual labor), varies based on length of activity

Department:  Student Services       

FLSA Status:  Non-Exempt

Immediate Supervisor:  MRP Activities Coordinator and ESU #3, Executive Director of Student Services

 

Essential Requirements:

 

  1. No history of child abuse or negligence.
  2. Is fluent in either American Sign Language or Signing Exact English
  3. Successfully pass required background checks.
  4. Regular and dependable in person attendance is required.

Essential Responsibilities:  

  1. Understand and comply with the ESU #3 Board of Education Personnel Policies and Employee Handbook.
  2. Regularly access the e-mail system for review of materials distributed from ESU #3.
  3. Attends required ESU 3 Student Services meetings such as Time Clock training, Annual Orientation, etc.
  4. Maintains confidentiality of student(s) information and situations that are learned during sign class.
  5. Respects all forms of communication.
  6. Abides by Nebraska Regional Programs’ policy for use of technology and social media. 
  7. Collaborates with Activities Coordinator regarding the enrollees’ needs during the activity. 
  8. Displays appropriate interpersonal skills to effectively work with students, parents, administrators, teachers, co-workers, and community members.
  9. Provides own transportation to fulfill responsibilities of position.
  10. Assists with supervision during activities when not instructing.
  11. Fulfills roles and/or responsibilities assigned for the activity.
  12. Other duties as assigned.
