Immediate Supervisor: Gifford Farm Coordinator

Essential Requirements: The position of Animal Care requires a person who enjoys working with animals and working outside a great deal of the time.  The position requires general knowledge of animal care and feeding.  

1. No history of child abuse or negligence.
2. Regular and dependable in-person attendance is required and is considered a condition of employment.
3. Successfully pass required background checks.

Essential Responsibilities: 

1. Understand and comply with the ESU #3 Board of Education Personnel Policies and Employee Handbook.
2. Perform animal care duties such as preparing food, feeding and providing water, cleaning barns, and animal pens.  This may include sweeping and mopping floors and general upkeep of the farm.  
3. Monitors sick, quarantined, and injured animals and observes them for unusual physical and behavioral issues.
4. Learn the physical and behavioral characteristics of animals.
5. Prepare barns and help with moving animals in preparation for programs.
6. Notify the Coordinator of damaged equipment and equipment needs.
7. Notify the Coordinator of food /hay/straw needs
8. Other duties as assigned.
