JOB DESCRIPTION

 

**Position would start in August of 2021

**Part time position

 

Job Title:  Kitchen Aide

 

Job Title Code:  2141

Number of Days Worked:  204 Days, 5 hours/day

Department:  Sarpy County Head Start

FLSA Status:  Non-Exempt

Immediate Supervisor:  Health and Nutrition Specialist

 

 

Staff Supervised:  N/A

  

Essential Requirements:  

 

  1. High School Diploma or Equivalent is required 
  2. Prior food service experience is preferred but not required
  3. CACFP training is preferred but not required
  4. Head Start experience preferred (minimum of two years) but not required
  5. This position is eligible for VEOA Veterans’ Preference
  6. Successfully pass required background checks.
  7. Regular and dependable in person attendance is required.

 

Essential Responsibilities:  

  1. Understand and comply with the ESU #3 Board of Education Personnel Policies and Employee Handbook.
  2. Maintain positive working relationships with program co-workers, specialists, and supervisor(s) 
  3. Receive food/beverage from food contractor and review required paperwork.
  4. Maintain food carts to ensure appropriate amounts of nutritional supplies.
  5. Serve food/beverage according to CACFP portions/regulations and deliver to individual classrooms. 
  6. Ensure correct food substitutions are made for children with food allergies/religious preference.
  7. Maintain a clean, safe, sanitary work environment to include overseeing the cleaning of dishes, linens and other classroom supplies (e.g., bibs, washcloths)
  8. Participate in health and nutrition activities to include (but not limited to) CACFP, NAP SACC, family style meals
  9. Other duties as assigned.
