JOB DESCRIPTION

 

ESU3 is looking to hire a dynamic, adaptive, collaborative educator to fill a consultant position within the Professional Learning Department for the 2021-2022 school year.  This position will provide services to member districts in areas germane to instructional technology and innovative practices, educational leadership, curriculum, instruction, assessment, multi-tiered systems of support, and continuous improvement.  Ideal candidates will have successful leadership, administration, and/or instructional coaching experiences with an emphasis in integrating technology, will possess a PK-12 understanding of education systems and adult learning, and will have knowledge regarding the standards for professional learning.  A current NE teaching or administrative certificate and Master's Degree are required. 

 

Days worked & salary are negotiable.  ESU3 is part of the NPERS system with the same contribution factors.  Inquiries about the position should be made to Dr. Scott Blum, Executive Director of Professional Learning.

Essential Requirements: (Education, Certification, Extended Experience and Technical Skills) Master’s Degree in Educational field; Relevant Leadership Roles and Classroom Experience; Current Nebraska Teaching or Administrative Certificate;  Facilitation and Training Skills for Adult Learners; Technology Skills and expertise. 

 

  1. No history of child abuse or negligence
  2. Successfully pass required background checks.
  3. Regular and dependable in person attendance is required.

Essential Responsibilities and Job Tasks:

 

  1. Understand and comply with the ESU3 Board of Education Personnel Policies and Employee Handbook.

 

Job Tasks:

  • Provide support, assistance, guidance, coaching, and/or consultation to member schools in the areas of instructional technology, educational leadership, curriculum, instruction, assessment, multi-tiered systems of support, and continuous improvement. 
  • Provide leadership and expertise in areas related to
    • Digital learning
    • Learning Management Systems
    • Videoconferencing/Distance Learning
    • Technology integration
    • Instructional technology integration and strategies for improved learning
    • Emerging technologies and innovation
  • Collaborate, create, and support Professional Learning Department essential activities such as the Makerspace and Innovation Lab (EMIL), ESU3 TV, Digital Learning, PLD Social Media, and similar technologies and innovative practices.
  • Deliver professional learning services in areas of instructional technology integration, curriculum, instruction, assessment, and continuous improvement.
  • Hold certifications (e.g., Google, Apple) and remain current on best practice research in the area of instructional technology integration and all emerging trends, needs, and resources related to the duties as outlined.   
  • Attend and contribute to Professional Learning Department Network and Instructional Technology Users Group meetings; provide input to matters pertinent to district Media personnel and ESU3 Media services; and High Ability Learning Network as needed.   
  • Develop, deliver, and evaluate project services in accordance with individual District Service Plans (DSPs), as advised by the ESU3 Professional Learning Department’s (PLD) Network Committee, and/or as directed by the Executive Director of Professional Learning.  
  • Maintain accurate, timely, and complete records of all services provided.  
  • Represent ESU3 in local and regional meetings and matters related to relevant ESUPDO Affiliates, NDE, and other entities as suggested and approved by the Executive Director of Professional Learning.
  • Other Duties as assigned by the Executive Director of Professional Learning.

Evaluation: Annually, by the Executive Director of Professional Learning.

 

Compensation: Annual salary to be set by the ESU3 Board of Education.
